Our ESOL classes are for children and teenagers aged 4 - 18 who want to learn English or who are already learning English and want to improve.

Our Philosophy

We use imaginative, fun and effective child-centered methods that focus on the four basic communication skills:  speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Days and Times

Therwil: Classes in Therwil meet 1 time per week  for 1 hour.

Riehen: Classes in Riehen meet 1 time per week for 2 hours.

Homework:

The children in our programs achieve impressive results in the short classroom time we have with them.   Parents can help significantly by working with their children at home as well.  Homework is set on a regular basis, usually in the form of reading, practising for spelling tests or extra practise of work done in class.  Children will assimilate new information much faster through repetition and practise at home.

Cambridge Young Learners Exams (YLEs)

We are an approved testing center for the Cambridge Young Learners Exams - Starters, Movers and Flyers - and prepare some children to take the exams each year.

Taking a Cambridge Young Learners Exam is optional at Ahead With English.
